Incident classification chart

The cart escalates.

It starts as an ordinary cart. Fill enough orders and it is issued upgrades. No one authorized this.

Level 00
A plain chrome shopping cart with sleepy half-closed eyes.

Dormant

Standard-issue. Fully compliant. Asleep at a wheel it does not have.

Level 01
The cart, eyes open, with a red handle grip and a small puff of exhaust.

Awake

Alerted. A red grip was fitted. No one filed the paperwork.

Level 02
The cart with orange racing stripes, a hood scoop, and knobby off-road tires.

Tuned

Off-road tires and a hood scoop appeared overnight. Unsanctioned.

Level 03
The cart as a full hot rod: a blower engine, chrome exhaust, and a flame-decal spoiler.

Blown

Supercharged. Now has a flame-decal spoiler. Management has stopped asking.

Level ▓▓
The cart wreathed in pink flames with furious eyes, tearing forward.

Redacted

We do not discuss the pink one. Please keep shopping.

Freshmart · internal memo · lane 1

Management regrets to announce a voluntary recall of iceberg lettuce and assorted leafy greens. Shoppers are advised that orders must still be filled, streaks must still be maintained, and the recalled item must not — under any circumstances — enter the cart. Management thanks you in advance for your cooperation, and is watching.

Standard operating procedure

How to play

Fill the order.

The ticket at the top shows what to bag. Drag to steer your cart and catch those items.

Let everything else fall.

Catching a safe-but-unwanted item breaks your streak. Restraint is a skill.

Never the recalled lettuce.

The one with the red warning mark ends the run in a single touch. You were warned. Repeatedly.

Countermeasures.

Catch a supply crate to be issued a random power-up. Standard equipment, nothing personal.
